CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA 5TH MARCH 2025

Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day is a nationwide environmental initiative that inspires individuals, schools, businesses, and community groups to come together and take practical action by removing litter and waste from parks, waterways, streets, and other public spaces. Held annually, the campaign fosters a strong sense of civic responsibility, raises environmental awareness, and promotes sustainability. It plays a vital role in preserving Australia’s natural beauty and protecting local ecosystems for future generations.

This year, the event took place on Sunday, 2nd March 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Duck River, adjacent to the Auburn Botanical Gardens. Volunteers gathered with great enthusiasm to contribute to a cleaner and greener environment.

ALMA has proudly participated in this meaningful initiative for over a decade, consistently supporting local efforts to maintain a cleaner environment. The 2025 event saw active participation from the ALMA Executive Committee, community members, and their families. Notably, children learning valuable lessons about environmental stewardship through hands-on experience.

In recognition of their efforts, all participating children were presented with certificates of appreciation, awarded by distinguished guests including the local Member of Parliament and Council members, who were also in attendance to show their support and encouragement for this community-driven cause.

ALMA remains committed to initiatives that promote environmental care, community engagement, and intergenerational learning, and looks forward to continuing its involvement in Clean Up Australia Day in the years to come.
