ACEP Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Exciting Ramadan Competition 2023

AUBURN, Date – The ALMA Community Education Program (ACEP) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Ramadan competition, which will mark the program’s 20th anniversary. This competition is not limited to ACEP class students but is open to all ALMA children who fall into the specified age categories.

ACEP encourages parents to fill out the online application form by the 19th of March 2023 to enroll their children in the competition. Each child can select up to two competitions from the categories listed below.

The competition details are as follows:

GROUP 1 COMPETITIONS: Year 1 – Year 2

a) Qur’an Memorization

   Participants are required to memorize Sura Fathiha, Sura Naas, Sura Falaq, Sura Ikhlas, and Sura Masad.

b) Arabic Calligraphy

   Participants will be provided with a printed paper for coloring.

GROUP 2 COMPETITIONS: Year 3 – Year 4

a) Qur’an Memorization and Prayer

   1) Participants need to memorize Sura Masad, Sura Nasr, Sura Kafirun, and Sura Kausar.

   2) Participants should demonstrate how to perform wudu (ablution) and pray one Rakah, including recitations (e.g., Sura Fathiha, recitals for Rukoo, Sujood).

b) Arabic Calligraphy

   Participants will be provided with a printed paper for coloring.

GROUP 3 COMPETITIONS: Year 5 – Year 6

a) Qur’an Memorization and Prayer

   1) Participants should memorize Sura Ma’un, Sura Quraish, Sura Feel, Sura Humazah, and Sura Asr.

   2) Participants need to demonstrate how to perform Thayammum and pray one Rakah, including recitations (e.g., Sura Fathiha, recitals for Rukoo, Sujood, and At-Tahiyyat).

b) Arabic Calligraphy

   Participants will be provided with blank paper to draw their own calligraphy and color it.

GROUP 4 COMPETITIONS: Year 7 – Year 9

a) Quiz

   Children will be asked to listen to a speech by a guest speaker and will be tested with multiple-choice and descriptive questions based on the speech.

b) Speech

   Children are required to prepare a speech (4 minutes) on either “Preserving our religious and cultural identity at all times” or “Post-pandemic lessons – how can we improve?”

Each child has the opportunity to enroll in up to two events, allowing them to showcase their skills and knowledge in multiple categories.

Saturday, 01 April 2023, at the Auburn Town Hall, starting from 2 PM onwards.
