ALMA Announces Exciting Ramadan Program for 2023
AUBURN, March 2023 – The holy month of Ramadan is a time of unity, spiritual reflection, and community engagement. ALMA is thrilled to announce its comprehensive line-up of Ramadan program for the year 2023, aimed at bringing the community together in collective worship and fostering friendships among families and friends.
One of the highlights of ALMA’s Ramadan calendar is the organization of Ifthar functions, providing the community with an opportunity to break their fasts together. This year, ALMA has scheduled four Ifthar events, along with Laylatul Qadr and Eid Ul Fitr celebrations. The details of the Ifthar events are as follows:
– Ifthar – 1: Sunday, 26 March 2023, at 7:01 PM, Auburn Town Hall
– Ifthar – 2: Saturday, 01 April 2023, at 6:53 PM, Auburn Town Hall
– Ifthar – 3: Sunday, 09 April 2023, at 5:41 PM, The Granville Centre
– Ifthar – 4: Saturday, 15 April 2023, at 5:34 PM, Auburn Town Hall
In addition to the Ifthar gatherings, ALMA has arranged for guest speakers to deliver talks after Maghrib prayers every week, providing spiritual guidance and uplifting messages to the community. These talks aim to enhance the overall Ramadan experience and deepen the understanding of the significance of this blessed month.
ALMA encourages its members to actively participate in the weekly groups organizing the Ifthar functions or contribute generously towards the expenses. By contributing to the Ifthar arrangements, individuals can seek the blessings and pleasure of Allah (SWT) during the holy month. Additionally, fundraising efforts will be undertaken for the Serendib Education Fund (SEF), and funds will be collected to provide dry rations for needy families in Sri Lanka during Ramadan.
Those interested in joining the weekly groups or making contributions towards Ifthar expenses, dry rations for Sri Lanka, SEF, or Zakat ul Fitr, may contact the respective Ifthar Coordinators appointed by the ALMA Exco.
