Annual ‘Welcome Ramadan’ Program Kicks off the Holy Month with Spirituality and Reflection

 

AUBURN, March 12, 2023 – With the sacred month of Ramadan just around the corner, the eagerly awaited ‘Welcome Ramadan’ event took place on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Auburn Town Hall, located at 1 Susan St, Auburn 2144. The program commenced at 6:15 PM, bringing together the community to prepare for the arrival of Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.

 

The event had a diverse and engaging agenda, designed to foster a sense of unity and togetherness among the attendees. The program began with a soul-stirring recitation of Qira’at by Atif Sideeq, setting a serene and contemplative atmosphere for the evening. Following the recitation, several students from the ALMA Community Education Program (ACEP) delivered presentations, sharing their knowledge and insights on Ramadan, its significance, and the virtues associated with this blessed month.

 

A highlight of the evening was the speech delivered by the esteemed Guest Speaker, Sheikh Mohammed Yaquob. Sheikh Yaquob, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of Ramadan, its spiritual significance, and the proper observance of the month. His words resonated deeply with the attendees, inspiring them to embark on a journey of self-reflection, self-discipline, and increased devotion.

 

 

As the evening progressed, the congregants offered their Maghrib prayers together, engaging in a collective act of worship and gratitude.
