ALMA EXCO succeeded in registering with the Cumberland Council, to be part of the Clean Up Australia Day which was held on Sunday 7th March 2021, from 8.00 am – 11.00 am. The clean up site allocated for us is along the Auburn duck river. Participants were kindly requested to gather at the main entrance (next to the site office) to the Botanical Gardens.
ALMA has been participating in this event for the past several years and the involvement of our members has been ever increasing.This year ALMA youth ( Young adult and Ladies ) are on board with ALMA to make this event as successful as possible. Being part of this program, which creates awareness and a sense of responsibility about the environment which we live in, is deemed invaluable especially for children of school going age and youth alike.
Many ALMA members participated with their families to support this event to assist the local Council to help clean up the local enviromment. Br. Abdul Gafoor took the lead to organize this event on behalf of ALMA, and many ALMA other members gave their support to make the event a success.
ALMA President thanked all the participants including the Members of Parliament, local council Members, Member from other organization for participating for this event.
Children k – 12 were awarded a certificate from the council in recognition of their participation
